Financial Assistance Program
The Caring Voice Coalition Financial Assistance Program provides financial help to
eligible patients. Caring Voice Coalition may pay a portion or all of a patient’s share of
cost under the patient’s health insurance plan. A patient can receive financial support
through one of our grants programs listed below.
- Insurance premium assistance
- Insurance co-payment assistance
- Medicare prescription drug assistance
Insurance premium assistance: An insurance “premium” is the amount paid,
usually on a monthly basis, in order to maintain the coverage. Our insurance premium assistance
grants are designed for situations when a patient has access to comprehensive health insurance
coverage but does not have enough personal income to pay the premium required to maintain the
coverage.

Insurance co-payment assistance: A health insurance “co-payment” is an amount
left behind, after the insurance has paid, which the patient is usually required to pay to the
medical provider. In the case of prescription medication therapies, the co-payment usually must be
paid to the pharmacy which dispensed or distributed the medication. Our insurance co-payment
assistance grant is designed for situations when a patient is able to afford his or her health
insurance premium but lacks the personal income to pay their co-payment responsibility..

Medicare prescription drug assistance: The federal Medicare program includes many
different parts which are available in different forms and which provide varying degrees of coverage
for different health care costs, including many prescription medications. While Medicare’s coverage
is certainly beneficial, it often leaves behind amounts that the patient must pay. These co-payments
can often be very costly. Our Medicare prescription drug assistance grant is designed for situations
when a patient does not have enough personal income to pay those amounts.
